Hey, I got a good one. I have a Verizon cell phone but I have been using VOIP for my home phone for a long time. Still, Verizon just dropped six very fat books on my doorstep. Why are they doing that? I haven't looked at a phone book in at least six years or more and neither has anyone else in my family (I mean other than to replace my old set with a new one when I get it.) Can someone asked them to stop? I don't even get a paper bill from them so I could save some paper and here they are, must have killed two trees to make all of them books.bafflement

Technically, I am not sure if this topic belongs here. I mean I started this so that we can bitch and so on, against things that the Government is doing. Originally, I meant it as a relief for Civil Workers; I have to admit however, that you are making a very good point so of course, your comment stays. If it opens the door to other complaints, well so be it!

This is funny; I am visiting friends in Queens New York and I saw a lot of packages of books that said Verizon on them next to the garbage can on Jamaica Avenue. They were all tightly wrapped up in plastic wrapping and I opened one because I thought it might be something interesting to read. We have a lot more respect for books at home and I was upset that it was just some telephone books. There were four packages with eight very fat books each and the first one I opened was just a telephone book. The others were also telephone books. Some said they were yellow and others said white and some others were some other kinds that I forgot. So it was funny to run across this topic here when I was searching the internet. I will check back sometimes to see maybe someone can explain this mystery. I know everybody says that America is very rich and they can print very fat telephone books here, but I do not understand the matter of these books that you say nobody wants.
